Dakota Area Community School, as a public charter school, is overseen by a Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is comprised of five individuals, of which a majority are teachers, with the goal of making sure DACS is staying true to its vision, mission and priorities.
Board Function
The Board of Directors oversees all aspects, policy creation, committees, staffing, curricular scope and sequence, additional programming and fiscal operations of DACS. The Board of Directors submits an annual report, annual audit, as well as other information necessary to fullfill its requirements to the State of Minnesota and our sponsor Minnesota Department of Education. The Board of Directors hold meetings on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of every month. Meetings are at 4:00pm and are held in the teachers work area at the school. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend all of the open meetings.
