About Dakota Area Community School
Dakota Area Community School (DACS) is an independent, public Preschool, 4 year old PreKindergarten, and Kindergarten - 5th grade school chartered in Dakota, Minnesota. Located in the bluff country just seven miles north of La Crescent and seventeen miles south of Winona, DACS offers area families a school committed to small class sizes, a strong core curriculum and innovative programs that encourage community involvement and lifelong learning.

Dakota Area Community School, as a public charter school, is overseen by a Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is made up of five members of which a majority is teachers here at DACS. Board members meet twice a month for board meetings and also serve on various committees. Below is a list of our current Board members:
